Emerald Baptist Church came into existence in 1974 under the leadership of a group a people that felt called of the Lord to establish a new place of worship in Greenwood. From meeting first of all in a rented facility the Lord eventually blessed this group of charter members to be able to purchase a piece of property on Evans Pond Rd in Greenwood where the church would spend the next 30 years. Again following the Lord's leadership the church was able to relocate to the heart of Greenwood by purchasing the old Catholic church at 110 E. Laurel Ave. Since the relocation the church has experienced tremendous growth both numerically and spiritually. We look forward to what the Lord has in store in the coming years.
