This coming Friday night (01-22-10) the Youth will be hosting another Lock-In at the church.
Last time we had over 65 young people spend the night at the church and the most important thing that took place was; 5 of those young people accepted Christ as their personal Savior.
"That's what it's all about!"
This weekend we are praying for more than 100 teenagers to come and spend the night with us but most of all spend time in the Lord's presence.
Parents, please know that everything will be structured and there will be plenty of adult supervision.
As soon as each teenager arrives they will be required to fill out a form that will list an emergency contact number that will serve a dual purpose.
God forbid anyone should be injured; we will contact you immediately.
If your teenager becomes uncooperative and not willing to participate in the program you will be notified immediately and asked to come and take the teenager home.
We hope nothing like this has to happen; however we need to cover all the bases.
I am witnessing a tremendous amount of growth in the lives of our teenagers. On Wednesday we established an "Accountability" group where one student in High School has been networked with a student in Middle School and they are to encourage each other through personal contact at least once a week.
That includes telephone, text messaging, or even Facebook communication.
The Youth of today face temptations like never before. We want to encourage the Youth of EBC to take a stand for the Lord everywhere they go.
They have the potential to not only change their schools; they also have the potential to change their community.
We are looking at the future leaders of our church, our state, and our nation.
It is important for all of us as adult leaders within the church to invest our time and resources into the lives of these young people.
